  • Drunk because of a bit of leakage - opened with fears that it would be oxidized. But it wasn't. In fact, it was surprisingly fruity, with the same profile of fruit as when it was young: red, sweet fruit, almost candied. It has evolved but hasn't transformed yet into something really different or special. All in all it was a pleasant, easy drink over a casual Friday night dinner.

  • Ripe and fleshy fruit, blackberries, some toasted oak, but well integrated and a hint of balsamic lift. It starts on the fruit, but then it is brought down by its weight, you feel the extraction and the warm vintage on the midpalate. Lacks energy and you feel the oak. Somewhat better on day 2 and with food, but a bit of a disappointment...

  • Very intense nose! It has the typical notes from the Buendner Herrschaft, elder flowers, red berries, a hint of cassis and of citrus and some very dry oak. Red fruit on the palate on entry. Very fresh and balanced with just a bit of bitterness. Lovely and quite long aftertaste. I love the pinot noirs from this region and this is a very fine example.
