This is my first of three, and it's in a good spot. Dense opaque coloring with garnet edges. Aromas of dark fruits, graphite, and cedar. Medium body, acid, and finish, with dark fruits, black tea, menthol, orange peel, and dry barrel spice notes. Nice tonight with a marinated, lemon led flavor profile, skirt steak.

Clear, almost black-like purple, with light purple rim, and sporadic slow-moving tears. Clean, med+ intensity, with aromas of black cherries, figs, raspberries, saddle leather, cardamom, overripe Hawthorne, and blueberry jam. Dry, med body, med alcohol, med acidity, and med tannins, with further tastes of mulberry, blackberry, light pepper, roasted cinnamon stick, and kalamata olives. Perfectly balanced with a decent finish but this wine is still deciding its fate as its fruit appears to be fading but the pepper flavours are still very dominant. Would have said best time to drink three years ago or two years later.

Popped and poured blind. Classic in an "inverted" sort of way. Still retains its sense of place despite the prevalent Merlot.
