A bargain and a delicious wine. Big, with tar like flavors and a juicy mouthful but not some gooey syrup. Clearly limited. - no high notes, but a great wine tonhave on its own as a cocktail (or two)

I just love how this wine continued to get better. Smoky black cherry compote on an earthy foundation with big dark fruit throughout. At one point I considered this wine a novelty, however I have to give Fred props for creating an enjoyable and intriguing offering in a vintage that will be remembered for the smoke taint. This wine is fun and merits serious drinkability.

Can pick up some toasted notes - lots of credit to Scherrer for being up front on this. Not bad and well price for what it is. Medium to full bodied but not overripe. The toast prevents it from being an excellent wine but you can tell the quality is there.

Black cherry char with impressive mouthfeel and overall length. Nice black cherry aromas and rich, deep color in the glass. I was curious how this would taste overall but give Fred props for making lemonade out of a potential lemon. A bit simple in terms of complexity or nuance but still very enjoyable and easy to drink.

This is a fairly big Pinot with lots of dark fruit, smoke, just a hint of sweetness on the mid palate, and a very long finish. This is NOT your strawberry, bubble gum Pinot, not subtle but very flavorful.
