  • Wasn’t thinking when I bought this - a 2009 Touraine Sauvignon Blanc!! Didn’t really look at the vintage. Interesting though. It was almost tawny in colour. Nothing on the nose. Very little on the taste. A slight hint of apple peel with a slight bitterness on the finish. You live and learn!
Addendum: we kept this wine for cooking with. Just a little had been taken and then recorked. 5 days later we reopened the bottle. The wine was golden tawny in colour. It now had a fortified nose. On the palate it was dry and sherry like. Not vinegary at all. It was actually quite pleasant. We still cooked with it but had a good glass and really enjoyed it as an aperitif. The slight bitterness remained on the finish.
