  • Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.

Another excellent Riesling. Fully integrated. It's a Riesling, so it has some sugar, but all in balance.

  • Golden yellow. The nose showed off some petrol at first, but blew off quickly to offer some fresh fruity perfumed aromatics. Light to medium bodied, this is not as creamy or heavy as some other 2003's. This is all about clean, pure fruit. Sweeter orange/tangerine along with summertime stone fruit. Still showing plenty of bright acidity. Soft, fruit filled finish. Paired with Epoisses cheese.

  • The nose is rich and simultaneously fresh, yielding vivid aromas of honeycomb, pineapple, and white flowers. The palate follows in fashion with an intricate mixture of ripe tropical fruits, apricots, and fresh honey that are lush but not overtly sweet. These extend to and bathe the mid-palate with arising elements of rubber and oil. The wine finishes long with sweet, but lean citrus and still lively acidity. It is lush and dense but not cloying, benefiting from a solid acid core that retains a freshness to the structure. This is a balanced and delicious wine with interesting complexities that has benefited from a little time in the bottle. R&M 90
