This wine is far, far past its prime, and this wine was temperature controlled since its purchase. Perhaps salvageable as a cooking wine as it retains some residual fruit and sweetness, vaguely reminiscent of an under-developed zin port. But the nose is just awful and this wine, if drunk at all, must be done so without breathing. I had this wine in its prime and am sorry I didn't drink it (much) sooner.

was properly stored the entire time. the nose was unpleasent, but it tasted more like a cab than a zin. lost all pepper and tannins. Fruit was well rounded. Did not decant.

purple Earthy at first then alcohol and berries 13.5% alc. Big and brawny. some sparkle due to secondary fermentation. still hot in 2004. briny at fist. then smooths out. firm tannins and crisp acidity.
