P&P. dark ruby, opaque, 2mm fading. nose: cooked red fruit, vegetable bouillion, soy sauce, lactic acid, allspice. palate: med to full body, dissociating structure ('falling apart on tha palate'), striking bitterness, 14 Caudalie, acid, bitterness and C2H5OH in the end. not sure whether this has been more enjoyable while young, but this is likely. it contradicts a common misbelief that once a decent Southern Hemisphere Cab is in the bottle it ages well. this one hasn't.

Drank with cigars on the deck with Ron. Looking to get rid of all SA wines for 05 Bordeaux. No time like the present. Not memorable. Like the Cab/merlot better.

Didn't take notes. Not as much menthol as the 01 reserve. Thought this was ok, but not my type. I'd much rather domestic cab or french. I'll keep the remaining cabs just to see how they develop.
