(Joh. Jos. Christoffel Erdener Treppchen Riesling Auslese**) ($57.00) The aromas are a little mute, and the palate is turbulent and nubby and with kitten-teeth of acidity, yet it’s drenched with internal perfume, and recent bottling has surely twisted it into an obdurate knot. Tropical nose thick with white flowers. Palate of flowers, tangerines, pears, and apples. Tart with good tension. I like it.

Fat and packed with peach character. Very decadent and in need of some cellar time. On the dessert end of the spectrum.
