(Joh. Jos. Christoffel Erdener Treppchen Riesling Auslese**) ($57.00) The aromas are a little mute, and the palate is turbulent and nubby and with kitten-teeth of acidity, yet it’s drenched with internal perfume, and recent bottling has surely twisted it into an obdurate knot. What does show is compelling.
