Weekly tasting group RWP #351; 2009 (@ VD): Red berries, earth, vanilla, cherries, and herbs in the deep bouquet. On the palate firm acidity and sticky tannin, herbs and spices, cherries, juicy red berries and round, sticky tannin in the finish as well as firm acidity. 90+

Similar notes to the previous tasting half a year ago. Only add is some notes of white pepper in the finish. This is a very fine village VR. I sense it have developed since last tasting although. Very enjoyable, composed just like a burgundy should be. It developed in the glass throughout the evening. I will try to keep my remaining bottles for 2-3 years, but hard to keep the fingers of them. 93+P

Very concentrated color and an intense nose with dark fruit and berries but also some floral sweetness. On the palate a high concentration and weight. Cranberries, sweetness, tar and leather toward the finish. A medium long finish with some cedar. A nice complexity for a “just village” VR. Drinkable now but will for sure last several more years in the cellar. I plan to keep my remaining bottles 3-5 more years, anticipating (hoping) it will be at the top then. Currently, it´s a 91-93P
