  • Really excellent. Vibrant mature Pinot nose, fruity, hint of sweet spices. Medium-light body, good depth, some complexity, excellent length. Beets on aftertaste. Some acid on finish after 1.5 hours. Perfect now. Best yet. 91. I'm stunned.

  • Oh dear. After my ravings below, something's happened and I don't know what it is. Maybe the moon's in a sulk but this wine has fallen off a cliff. The nose only hints at the strengths it had before, the palate is lifeless and the wine then tails off like a bad excuse leaving the building. Far from buying or consuming with confidence, treat with care! The producer is so reliable, the vintage so highly thought of and BC's wines from Marsannay generally so charming, I hope this is a temporary blip and unlucky alignment of the planets. And this is the result of five or six bottles, not one which may have been excusable. Proceed with caution.
