Here we have a Sauvignon Blanc from South Africa that at about $22 is almost twice what we pay for our everyday drinking Sauvignon Blanc from whatever region. So what is different, and is it worth it? There is lots to discuss. Starting off, the color is much lighter, basically almost clear. The nose is very light and elegant with just enough a hint of herbal grassiness to tell us it is Sauvignon. There is a light floral component with the lemon and other citrus. The passion fruit, grapefruit, lemon/lime, pear, fig and other tropical fruits are bathed in an herbal, less than medium bodied zesty package. The fruit is lifted and expressive while still soft and elegant. Does not fall into either the Old World, or New World category. Very enjoyable, and a nice change of pace. I would sip this alone, slightly chilled, and probably wish it was a couple of dollars less per bottle.

Good citrus and grass on the nose. Good acidity on the tongue with a medium finish.

Eye: bright light yellow. Nose: citrus, white flowers. Palate: crisp, good fruit, light to medium body, long finish. Consistently nice
