  • (12%) 100% Gamay – A Skurnik wine from the Côte Roannaise in the “Upper Loire” this old vine offering averages over 40 years in age. Bright, vibrant minerality on the nose with red cherry notes. Translucent dark red in color. Medium bodied and smooth with raspberry and light pomegranate juiciness on the palate. On the mid-palate a floral component emerges along with a rocky mineral-ness that leads to a bright, vibrant (yes again) acidic finish that lingers on nicely with cinnamon and clove notes. A pure, focused wine that is a perfect if your palate needs a reset or even better yet if it doesn’t. Given the hype around 2009 Beaujolais don't miss this '08 Gamay.
