  • a pleasant surprise. stopped in a restaurant, subterra, in newberg, oregon and found a wall full of oregon pinots i had never heard of. this is the first, the wine maker was sitting behind us eating his lunch at the same time. about half the people lunching seemed to be in the trade. good pizza too. this is mature, sweet, and fairly smooth. i like it. we'll see if i like it to the end of the bottle and beyond. just had the first couple sips, but put a smile on my face right away. i wold drink this now or fairly soon, unless you like really mature wine. there is already a little brown or orange in the color, but not spoiled at all.

what fun to be in this modest yet highly successful rural, local wine producing region. people are low key and very nice here. oh yes, and there is no sales tax in oregon.

the next ones we got to open later are something like Zivo and J. Christopher. We will plan to stop here again on the way home and spend longer in newberg.

  • 2nd bottle, better than the first one 6 months ago. Bursting with cherries, cotton candy, lots of white pepper and all spice, silky and elegant finish.

  • Dark fruit with a lot of spice, pepper and earthen flavors. Very light bodied with soft tannins.
