After looking at some of the other reviews, we wondered if we were drinking the same wine! Upon opening, I could tell this one need some time to open. Red purple and somewhat clear with just a tiny bit of bricking on the edge and some very fine particulate. The initial bouquet was what I call “chemical”. And the taste was sharp and very tannic. After an hour, the tannins softened but were still pronounced but nice. The bouquet become much more pleasant, with hints of strawberry and mint with a bit of oakiness. The taste was a balance of firm tannins that softened as the wine opened over two hours and a nice long finish with hints of dark chocolate at the back. Berry, mint and cherries were the predominant flavors. Very nicely evolved over time. I think this wine is doing fine and will continue to drink well for a good amount of time.

Still not a great wine but pleasant. Gamey fruits are the obvious appeal but there remains a line of abrasiveness that doesn't sit well with me. Still, no regrets.

Disagree with the previous tasting notes. Classic aged auzzie shiraz, really like this wine!
