Westchester Wine School - Premium Wine Tasting (Bar Lees, Mamaroneck, NY): J$ supplied for WWS premium tasting. Tasted blind and, as it was the only pinot in this flight, was easily identifiable. The color was a pale crimson, and the nose was big and typically pinot--very floral, smoky with raspberries. Some noticed a touch of funk too. Medium bodied, with lots of ripe red fruit up front in this very fruit-forward pinot. Also, quite hot for a PN, but not unusual for California (which is why I rarely drink CA pinots). Many at WWS enjoyed this wine &, while I didn't hate it, it's def not my style of pinot

A great bottle of RRV pinot. Ripe raspberries and currant on the nose, followed by tastes of the same with a little mushroom and earth added in. Medium bodied, silky and smooth, this wine is pleasing in every way. Can't wait to share the other bottle I have!

I was concerned these bottles were beginning to show a bit of age based upon the last one I had. This one restored my faith and confidence in this wine. With a little air this provided the velvety, delicious palate that I was initially wowed by. Rich red fruit with nice spice notes. Drank wonderfully!
