A bit hot on the palate, causing it to seem out of balance at this stage in its development. After the second day it still didn't seem to resolve, but through the sharpness of the alcoholic bite was a solid fruit core that paired well with BBQ chicken

this is way better than the average 85 or so for this wine. I have had 3 over the past 3 years and it was always good, but is really nice with a little age. strong fruit, good tannins, sort of a husky feel to it.

This is a big, fruity syrah - underpinned by some tannic structure, but more on the side of a berry bomb, underpinned by earthy, spicy and smoky notes. Fine on its own, it was also surprisingly successful at Thanksgiving dinner - with a slew of spicy, strong side dishes. Also very popular with folks of divergent palates and varying interest in wine.

Good. Not great. For $17, outstanding. "06 Bousheys were better.

The older it gets, the oakier. Sadly.
