Dark and opaque plum color. BlackBerry and menthol on the nose. Alcohol.f Plum and cassis on the palate, with little other complexity. Tannins still there, but not intrusive. Medium finish. Gave this the best chance to shine: Rib-eye from the grill with sautéed mushrooms, and roasted potatoes/broccoli/parmesan/garlic; but….meh: ok.

Dark plum color, sort of brick-toned, which I took as a good sign of age. Cherry and blackberry tones, with reasonably integrated tannins. Not hugely complex, but drinkable enough. Paired fine with veal boscaiola (w/ wild mushrooms) at Cafe Sapori, but not an inspired pairing.

Decanted 3 hours. Red fruit, cherry, and spice on the nose. Red and black fruit combined with vanilla and spice on the palate. Nice finish with chewy cherries.
