Not as deep as the pinnacle 94 (to me), but there is plenty of red fruit, hints of old leather and and a cool mint note. There is a striking bit of acidity left here. almsot too much, and I think my bottle from one year ago was the best... It finishes just a tad short to be amazing, but it's damn good Syrah. Thanks, Steve!

Perhaps my best bottle yet of the 1991. Not as deep as the pinnacle 94 (to me), but there is meaty, red fruit, hints of old leather and and a cool mint note. Impeccable balance between aged, tertiary fruit flavors and hints of acidity. It finishes just a tad short to be amazing, but it's damn good Syrah. Thanks, Steve!

What can I say? 22 years old and still drinking. Wet leaves, aged fruit, earth tones. Not as long as perhaps the 94, maybe it's just past perfect, but there is meaty, red fruit braced by tobacco notes and mint. Impeccable balance between aged, tertiary fruit flavors and juicy, lively fruit. It finishes just a tad short to be amazing, but it's damn good Syrah. Bravo Steve!
