Deep ruby, with traces of telltale brown betraying its age. Black and red cherry, fragrant red flowers, forest floor, some acidity and a little vanilla. A light, airy palate of cranberry, red raspberry, and a touch of creamy oak. Delicate, ethereal, but also textural and structural. Nice length to the back palate; rounds out with fine gossimer like tannins and fresh clean acidity. Came into its own after about 90 minutes in the decanter.

Brown red colour. Delicate nose. Cherry strawberry wood flavours which are softly present in the smooth light texture of the wine. Quite a bit happening on the end, gravel spice and forest notes. Nicely restrained and still well within its drinking life. Soft tannins but not overly long.
30 minute decant. Opaque blood red ruby. Very expressive nose, licorice, cherries, dusty spice. Light body, light mouthfeel, red cherry, white plum flavours, spicy oak, savoury not sour, not plush or silky more textured, read 'gravel' elsewhere and seams appropriate. Light acidity, spice and medium tannins develop mid palate to leave a sappy finish. Gains weight after an hour open.

Drank this with duck and steamed buns in Sydney's Chinatown. Great stuff slightly chilled, with pure fruit, fine tannins and yet a slight sappy grip, this is delicious now but will be even better in a year or two once everything settles into place. I would love to try an aged one. Drink now until 2023.
