  • Fruit forward with Blueberries and bright fruits. Powerfull wine thats better with food than alone, tannins are fully integrated. Long smooth finish. Really good.

  • Beautiful bouquet with smoke, vanilla and thyme. On the palate red and dark berries, a lot of sweet spices, chocolate and some pepper as well. Good acidity, round tannin and a great length. Very exclusive and beautiful wine in its maturity stage now and the next 3+ years.

  • PNP. Brooding black fruit. Sweet tobacco and vanilla. Dusty leather. This was mostly dominated by the ripe fruit, yet balanced with enough acidity and tannins (slightly grippy) to keep it from being overbearing. Well made in the modern style.

  • My last of these. Similar to previous notes. This is one of my top 10 wines of all time. There is power, beautiful sweet dark fruits and some smoke, but it's all lifted up by the acidity of the vintage bringing both power and a weightlessness. Uncanny is a word that comes to mind. Worth seeking out.

  • I agree with John McCabe, 2011 Le Carre is wonderful. It's interesting that the professional notes gave only 90. The price is all over, with K&L for just $49 to $300 other stores, very weird. I did pnp last summer towards the end of a dinner with lots of wine, yet it was a primadona and everyone took notice and drank some more, we were wiped out. The nose is alluring with good balance of fruit, leather, and tobacco. The mid palate taste commensurate with the aroma with good acidity. The after taste was long and enticing to have more. I wonder if it gets better with age and contemplating of popping another one soon.
