From half-bottle. I poured the wine into a small decanter and had the first glass immediately. The wine was medium ruby in colour and offered red fruit, raspberry, strawberry, pomegranate, blood, iron, underbrush, spices and a hint of fresh herbs on the nose. On the palate the wine showed red fruit, cherry, raspberry, strawberry, blood and spices, paired with medium-level acidity, prominent medium-level tannin and good length of the slightly bitter and somewhat sharp finish. The fresh, medium-bodied wine showed the ripeness of the vintage without being jammy. An enjoyable, reasonably balanced Santenay with moderate depth and concentration for mid-week drinking. The wine drank best immediately after opening and slowly declined over time. 87+

Popped and poured. The bouquet was spicy and laden with tart red fruit. Strawberry, raspberry, and cranberries galore. A bit of baking spice and white pepper. It was somewhat simpler on the palate, with a singular note of red fruit dominating the palate, supported by dusty tannins and more peppercorns. Overall a decent enough Burgundy from a great producer.

Medium garnet color. Light body. Plenty of plums and black cherries as well as a dash of pepper, tobacco, and cedar. Only ten minutes in the glass and it was already profound and stately and smooth as silk.

Nicely balanced fruit and acidity. Great with a country beef stew on a cold night. Great value wine.
