Morrell Wines Cote de Beaune The Reds (Morrell Wines, NYC): Color was a translucent red with a slightly amber tinge--strange for such a young wine. Nose was a nice mix of blackberry, black cherry, with a dash of funk. On the palate it was a sharply acidic attack with comparatively subdued fruit and relatively little else. Modest tannin and light finish. Easy-drinking and would likely be good with salty foods, but it's not inspiring me. I don't think it has the structure to improve any significant amount as it ages.

Paired with baked salmon. Started out a bit thin, but improved through the evening. Very enjoyable.

Fun bottle. Drank with some other 2007 burgs.
