  • Beautiful, almost glowingly, ruby color. I would say that the nose is a little reticent, but I'm pretty sure that allergy season is the real culprit. On the palate you are hit with an immediate burst of ripe cherry and raspberry, then underlying herb and iron notes kick in. As it lingers, you get slight notes of cedar and a tiny touch of vanilla. The fruit has a liquor like quality to it that reads close to grenache than pinot to me, but it is still delicious. The tannins are perfectly integrated and it finishes extremely long. Very good value.

  • A little better than average wine with nice red fruit flavors. A pretty good value at around $40.

  • What a nose on this wine! Aromas of cherry, raspberry, rose petal, forest floor and a touch of herb. Upon the attack this just has a wave of fruit that washes over your palate with flavors of cherry, rhubarb, raspberry and a touch of earth and mineral. Ends with a fabulous finish of almost 40 seconds that sails on and on. Wish I got more of these and will have to seriously look into the 2012's.

  • Darker berries, earth, nice complexity, ended a little on the dryer side. Alcohol well integrated and this will last 5-10 more years. Reminded me of some bigger sonoma coast pinots. A great starter red for the night before sta rita hills pinot. A giant step up and very different from the central coast entry blend calera does.
