Exaggerated concentration, outsized aromas and flavors, but with a distinctive off-putting note of petrol (!?). No evolution at all after 4 hours of decanting -- a first in my experience. I doubt the bottle was flawed and I doubt the wine will open up with more cellaring. This wine pretends to be smth it really is not. Something manipulative and unburgundian seems to be going on here. Thoroughly disappointing.

Before Burgundy... (Chez Chandra): Mid ruby to full garnet. Slightly translucent rather than transparent Softly velvety, minerally, mushroomy nose. Some sous-bois and signs of development. Palate velvety smooth. Beautifully integrated and harmonious. Almost too smooth - a wine to convert Burgundy sceptics without being de trop. Long. Lovely and comforting. ****1/2

Nose of thyme, basil, cinnamon, electrical fire smoke. Palate was very smooth, cherries, thyme, smoke. Long finish. Someone stated would have benefited from a decant, which I believe it would have. Everything was there, maybe felt just a little tight. Very alive and shows no signs of getting old. This was an outstanding bottle of wine.

Excellent wine. Well developed with lots of suis bois, mushrooms. Ready to drink. I did not fade at all over the course of 3 hour dinner.
