So much for this being a weak year. Lovely wine here. Aged Chateauneuf goodness, with autumnal notes like dried leaves and finely ground dry spices, a bit of red/brown Grenache fruit sweetness also comes through, very sleek in the mouth and long on the palate. Lots of subtleties, but the silky smooth texture is very pleasing. WOTN for many. At Kulper's apt.

Very slightly corked, yet surprisingly good. Color is brick, with an amber rim. Aromas of nuts, roasted meat, shellac. Mushroom on the palate, probably TCA.

Bonneau Tasting (Graz, Austria): More youthful, darker fruit on nose, blackcurrent. A more elecgant version of the previous wine, less concentrated but that pure strong mid-dark fruit element, also a fine savoury saline quaility, great balance, the massive structure fully absorbs what must be massive alcohol.

At Bonneau tasting. The colour was a little darker than the above (surprisingly enough given the vintage). Ahhh this gives a lot right now. Ripe and sweet with strawberry, cherry and smoky aromas. In the mouth, this was again sweet with complex notes of strawberries, mature meat, spice coating the mouth – perhaps a little short but at it max. level of enjoyment right now.

Incredibly structured and powerful wine showing no characteristics of this weak vintage. A delicious wine and a great achievement
