No formal notes, but this is drinking well at the moment. Threw it in a decanter for about an hour, but I'm not sure it was necessary. Fairly modern style, but Classic Brunello notes of dark fruit, leather/tobacco and earthy spice. Well-integrated structure.

Fom a Brunello tasting covering 2004 to 2008. Deep brick colour, fine core towards ruby. Mushroom, a bit damp cellar, some dry wood, and quite little fruit. Sweet attack on the first taste buds, then dry tannins, fine acidity, sweet fruit on the mid palate, and a fresh and dry aftertaste. A very nice wine, but in comparison with the company in this tasting (Casanova di Neri, Talenti and Il Poggione), this is a rather straightforward wine that is nice to drink. Will keep for quite a lot of years, but I doubt it will get better.

We recently tasted two wines from Tuscany that were both excellent, both successful expressions of Sangiovese with very different goals in mind. One is library Brunello di Montalcino; the other entry-level Toscana IGT. Each serves its purpose beautifully. There was only one problem: neither wine had enough stock in Seattle to truly support its own offer. Our solution: buy every last bottle of both wines available in western Washington and jam them together in a high-end/low-end Tuscan Sangio offer:Seekey for # of bottles currently available.

Good but less fruit and balance when compared to the Poggio Antico 2012 that I opened the day before.

Very soft tannins and muted fruit. Drank adjacent same wine of 2013 which had much brighter fruit and a bit more robust acidity.
