  • Intense, dense, evolved. Rather unique.

  • Much better served at cellar temperature than straight from the fridge. Very full and rich, with a nice balance of acidity. Very long finish. Others have likened it to a Northern Rhône, and I agree. However, I wonder if it’s worth the price given you can get Northern Rhône’s of a similar quality for less.

  • Zu Beginn mächtig, mit Zeit und Luft deutlich runder. Blind serviert an südafrikanischen Chenin Blanc von Eben Sadie gedacht. Erinnert mich immer an gute Burgunder. Holz noch spürbar. Etwas Nuß,Vanille und Honig, aber erfrischende Säure präsent. Hatte es schwer gegen die schlankeren Rieslinge. Fürs Essen ideal. 92

  • Two years since we tried it last ( Papies 91) and has definitely evolved and shows a whole new level of depth and complexity.
Blind we would have gone with north Rhone. Firm, good acidity, good ripe fruit, good evolution of the fruit, elegant and with a presence. Nice light waxy/oily texture and with lots of depth. Very solid and an easy 93. Drinks very well now.

  • This is a wine drinkers wine. Drank on Christmas day. I feel like this wine is in a transition phase. Lots of beautiful aromas on the nose. Tasted slightly oxidized but still had wonderful intensity and concentration. I have had several vintages of this wine to know its very explosive when its young. Tasted the next day (after vacuum sealing). Still tasted a little oxidized but still very concentrated. I left a small amount for day 2 in an open bottle (no sealing). Wow! It regained a very intense acidity and picked up secondary notes of honey and almonds. In my mind, this is a new world CDP. I am going to taste again in 2 or 3 years and can't wait! A very special wine......
