Found this bottle I forgot about, bought from the cellar door (only a 20 min drive away) around seven years ago. Worried that it may have been past it. On opening a little 'funky' on the nose, as others put it; not uncommon for a pinot. Left if to open for about an hour and, though definitely mature, I'd have to say it drank beautifully. Not quite as heavy in spice as Yarra Valley or Tassie pinots but still Rich full of fruit characters. Good weight overall and a long finish. Really happy to have found this gem; it's held up well, though had been cellared properly.

Quite a funky nose to start. Not reduced per se, more rubbery / leathery. Plush on the palate with a fair amount of fruit still. Punchy style which belies its 13%abv. Not sure I'm enjoying it hugely. A shame.

Excellent value option from a producer you wouldn't typically place as someone who can make ready pinot around $20 (bought on the Gold Coast of all places). Good depth and intensity, plenty of sour fruits and stink, high(ish) acid, and solid length. Will look good for another 2 to 3 years but some tailing on the finish does raise a question mark.
