  • Texas Hill region - Tasted at winery: Overwhelming aromas and flavors of strawberries. Decent finish, well balanced. (Doris 82)

  • This wine is just about as low on the side of average as it gets. This wine uncorked a darker pink stain. Nothing huge really as I am not really a seasoned Temp drinker. The waft out of the bottle was actually ver nice. Had a nice smell of blackberry jam, some earth, briar patch, with a rather beautiful wood-sy caramel and did I even detect mocha maybe? The nose was summed up by one word: YUM. The wine poured a very nice dark purple into the glass, and the initial nose after the swirl was all dark red fruits and some molasses. Spice! The flavor at first was amazing, a bit acidic...heck, even a bit heady. 15 minutes later after chilling the rest to about 60, the flavors changed...and not for the better. This very artificial flavor came through - fruit rollup type of red strawberry or cherry. The earthiness was there throughout and probably one of the only things that kept me drinking this wine. I just about finished the entire bottle, but the structure is not there. Any "lingering" on the palate is strictly the product of alcohol burning off as the wine really did assume a very acidic quality. Not really what I was hoping for. I did run this through a decanter to see what it would do, and the entire wine just fell apart. I want to like this wine as its earthy backbone is there - the rest of the wine just isn't.
