If you are holding the 09, you probably need to get to it. The fruit and the tannin have backed down leaving a more prominent acidic component. Still very good, but declined fairly rapidly after opening.

Notes made after 3 days open. Very dark inky ruby, clear legs with a glacial pace and moderate sediment. Aromas of lilac, cinnamon, maple, and licorice with youthful intensity. Slick mouthfeel and gentle tinges of spice on the palate. Lovely balance among tannins, minerals, fruit, and acids. Long, persistent bouquet into the finish and even with all that depth, no sense of being over-ripe. Drink now with a long decant or hold. 5+12+17+8=92

Medium light ruby red. Aromas of plum and cedar with a background of must. The wine leans to the tannic side with a nice counterbalance of acid. Dark fruit flavors with enough heft to appear sweet. Long mouth watering finish. Decanted for an hour. No apparent sediment. Still age worthy, but very enjoyable now.
