Showing we'll right now. Acidity overpowers fruit and tannin, so it is a good food wine. Nose of dark fruit, cedar, leather and a bit of earth. Palate - dark fruit with dominant acidity. Finish falls off.

The wine seems to be in the peak period. Quite open now, in fact it drank well for 24 hours and improved on Day 2. The nose is Bordeaux but you can't sense much Margaux typicity. Decent balance between oak and fruit, the fruit is dark and plummy, and there is a smoky and meaty element. The mouth is medium bodied, I remember it as more fleshy. Melted tannins and good acidity. The mouth feels a little loose, I would have loved some more grip. But overall there is good intensity on the nose and palate. Drink now - 2017.

Wine one of nine, all 2008 Bordeaux varieties:
Perfectly enjoyable throughout, particularly the expressive bouquet, which featured Merlot-like qualities. Balanced and suave.

In my cellar peaking now. Tannins softened classic (a bit light) Margaux with a hint of popcorn in the back.

Blackberries with a touch of leather. Unimpressive tannins. Some black pepper. Give it an hour or two.
