Yakut, the favourite red wine of Turkey, is produced from Turkish grapes Öküzgözü and Boğazkere and Alicante and Carignan grapes. Full bodied wine full of dried plum and cherries, a bit rough in the beginning but after a day, a pleasure to drink.

A bit young, but a nice mix of fruit flavors. If you haven't tried Turkish wines, this is a good basic one. There are many others from grapes you will never heard of, all worth a try.
