Bar a Vin 2010 Bordeaux Tasting (Tower Club, Republic Plaza, Singapore): This delivers good bang for its buck. An interesting blend of Viognier, Muscat and Sauvignon Blanc, it had an intensely floral nose - full of lavender and daisies and marigolds, with a bright, lemony accent riding underneath - very Provencale, and really pretty I thought. The palate was unfortunately a lot simpler and rather less attractive then the nose, but I guess there is only so much one can expect from a wine at this level. It was certainly not a bad drink in its own right though. Here, the oily texture of the Viognier was wed to bright, almost biting acidity, with simple lemon candy notes, some sweet guava, and then a touch of spice and bittersweet mineral at the finish. Short, really simple, but all in all actually pretty decent.

Fruity on the nose if not a full-blown fruit cocktail nose. Not too much fruit on the palate, where the sauvignon blanc kicks in and gives it acidity and minerality. A little bit of spritz. A simple wine but I could drink it again.

Lemon-green with an aromatic Muscat-like nose offering aromas of grapes, flowers and citrus fruit together with stone fruit. Steely on palate with racy acidity combined with apricot tones. Hints of minerality and greeness. Reasonable length. A descent wine made from SBlanc 50% together with Viognier and Muscat.

Has 13% alcohol. Previous references to minerality, citrus are valid. Bought it at budget price. Reasonable value.
