Quite a deepening colour. An expressive nose as it gradually opened. Rich but soft fruit at this age. Toast, nougat, honey, with traces of liquorice (fennel?). Long. A very fine wine but too expensive for me. Tasted with Will Dennison at Grand Union Wine Society.

light yellow. Pineapple, vanilla, floral, fresh. Similar in the mouth with pineapple and slight bitterness on the finish. May deepen with a year or two of cellaring. Courtesy of LF.

The Marquis had holdings in Morgeot and Le Montrachet, I am told. On the nose, this shows some butter and fruit, but overall this has the most reticent nose of the whites tasted to this point in the tasting. Palate shows a bit of greenness amidst richness and butter; the richness level is fairly high, in the same neighborhood as the Pucelles with slightly richer fruit, but this not quite as harmonious and balanced, with a touch of greenness on the finish. Still, decent Chassagne. Good, enjoyable. 90-91.

Disappointing with fruit somewhat flat. Finish short.

Roasted pineapple and vanilla are the strongest notes. Reasonable acidity. Decent but wouldn't buy more. Not that exciting frankly
