Wonderfull room filling nose. Smooth tannins, good mouthfeel. Spicy at first then, after a few hours, it became quite complex. This is aging very well and is much better than the last bottle i had. Did not improve on day two but didn't really drop off either, except for the nose, which was more muted. Very enjoyable Barolo in a good place.

PnP. Color is translucent garnet to deep red with some fade to orange at the edge. Aromas of menthol, violets, strawberries, cherry and vanilla. On the palate some wood/stem flavors with bright fruit, acidity and well-integrated tannin. After 20 minutes or so the wood/stem flavors are integrating and some secondary herbal notes with some raspberry are coming in leaving a very nice wine. Drank a glass while a red sauce was reducing on the stove. Then, drank with dinner of red sauce over pasta with a spring green salad with lemon vinaigrette. Oxidized aromas crept in a little bit, but never intruded heavily. The wine generally softened and improved as it was open. 90-91.

Definitely has some age on it that lends to its complexity, but also some life in spite of the orange rim. Star anise at the front of the palate and then tobacco, leather, prunes, ripe raspberry and spice box round out the mid-palate and lingering finish. This was a treat with Prime rib eye steak in a red wine reduction topped with crusted bleu cheese and purple rosemary fingerling potatoe "chips."

This bottle was in perfect shape. Clear, slightly brown on the edges. A nose of roses and tar. Tannins integrated, good acidity.
