Appearance: deep ruby, garnet highlights, starting to show some rim variation, heavy tearing, medium+ staining, moderate amount of fine sediment.
Nose: clean, developing, medium intensity, red currant, black currant, black plum, red bell pepper jam, dusty earth, sage, tobacco, alder wood, cured meat, baked plum.
Palate: dry, medium acid, medium+ tannin, high alcohol (14.5%), medium+ intensity, medium+ body, medium finish, red currant, black currant, black plum, red bell pepper jam, dusty earth, sage, tobacco, alder wood, cured meat, baked plum.
Overall: A reasonably well balanced Bordeaux starting to show some savory tertiary development to compliment the ripe fruit and slight herbal edge. Showing some of the ripeness of the vintage, but definitely not overdone, this feels halfway between traditional and modern. A pretty decent value, and a nice compliment to grilled steak.

I had a very different experience than Purple Tooth. The bottle I tasted delivered excellent depth and range, with hints of knee-weakening Creme de Cassis. Medium plus acid and medium tannins create a bracing frame that contains the wine's substance.
Showing considerable secondary elements, thought not yet anything tertiary. Likely to continue its evolution and hold through 2030. It might improve.
Acceptable and rather thick for an Haut Medoc. Felt more like a standard right banker from one of the big appellations. Some hints of meat, and definitely at its very best. DRINK
