Fruit still quite intact and delightful. Lovely garnet color. Dark cherry and rasberry fruits, licorice, bark, dried herbs flavors well integrated and with long finish. Smooth and complex. Very pleasing.

This wine continues to exceed expectations, which is saying something, since I accepted its brilliance a while ago. It's still get the telltale tannins of Syrah, but they have smoothed out. Luckily, not too much, so it has some staying power. The secondary flavors are slowly developing, and I wouldn't put it in the category of a serious N. Rhone, but it's pleasure-giving without being simple. I've got one more, and I think we could see it enter a dumb phase, so I'll probably move to the 2010 and let this rest.

Cork disintegrated. First pour was tight, lost and disappointing. Double decanted and was really pleased.

This needs some time or a lot of air. Nice dark fruits but strong tannic finish yet. Will improve.
