  • Ample nose of juicy pineapple, flinty minerality and a touch of aged Riesling aromatics. Incredibly supple palate of exuberant honey and melon aromatics seasoned with nice, rather powerful minerality. Dry and fresh with nice, racy acidity, yet retaining very supple, bright and juicy fruit. Subtle bready aromas in the background giving the palate nice richness. The wine itself is not a powerhouse, but instead elegant and balanced sparkler, not unlike a good Champagne. Nice minerality and citrusy acidity in the lengthy finish with restrained residual sugar bringing in sweet hints of honey.

A very classy and attractive Riesling Sekt with very nice structure. Will keep and most likely even develop with short-to-mid-term (4-5 years?) aging, though not to the extent of the best Champagnes. However, at 21€ this is definitely a lot better buy than the Champagnes in the same price range. Highly recommended.

  • Not built for the ages but still as delicious as it was before, fresh and rich, clean and precise, smoky minerality and impressive weight of fruit; impeccable winemaking.

  • Fruit, minerals, brioche and cream, depth and finesse, harmonious and exciting, juicy, smooth and dry, elegant, good length. Stylish. A Fürst von Metternich Sekt tasted alongside seemed coarse, raw and mean.
