Great nose with black currant, blueberries, mint and white pepper. Drinks slightly spicy with subdued fruit. Good balance between earth and tea characters with the fruit. The fruit linger in the background and this is more of an old world wine with earth, spice and tea flavors than fruit driven. Good stuff. Too bad it was the last bottle. Was a little worried that the 2001 would be over the hill but it was fine.

Great value wine. Cherry and cedar aromas start it off. It finishes with generous flavors of plum, vanilla, and spice over firm yet well balanced tannins.

As usual, you can't go wrong with anything that Jorge Ordonez touches. A Rioja that has enough fruit and wood, but not too much of either. A nice, elegant European style wine that is friendly to American palates. I can drink this all night, and the price is right to keep plenty as the house wine.

Nose: Very Good, Initial: Good, Finish: Delicious. A very nice wine, especially on the finish. Would buy again.
