  • Was offered by a nice friend of mine after opening on the second day. Felt most of the fruits notes have diminished with the aeration but still enjoyable. Medium+ nose intensity of violet, flora, spices. Medium+ acidity and medium tannin.

  • SLDS October 2019: Floral lift, liquorice and spice. Very nice flavour profile, has plenty of earthy savoury elements, red fruits and good balance. Good length as well. Give it more time to develop more complexity.

  • Perfumed, red fruits, florals. Mid weight palate, balanced, pristine. More time should offer greater complexity.

  • had this one night one, then gassed and fridged and tried again on night three, score is for night three, this was pleasant but still somewhat shut down, foursquare with mid range (purple, not red or dark) fruit, some slight spice, decent acidity and some tannins too... everything right in the middle of the scale -- nothing that inspired.... I've decided over the last four years that LSJ from Rousseau is not worth the money, but thought 2010 would be ready (as most 2010 are) and better than this, I am going to try to wait 10 years before my next

  • Had this at a restaurant with friends. Have not had many of the Rousseau wines. The nose was great with cool, mineral notes, dark red fruits, hints of earth and sauvage. The palate is still pretty tightly wound and not really giving up a ton. There is fruit and earth, but generally wrapped in tannins. The depth and potential are certainly there for this to continue to develop and I think in another 5-10 years should be quite good. That said I'm not sure this really warrants the price as there is equally as good or better Gevrey wines available for significantly less. Still fun to try and a very good wine.
