Medium pale ruby red with pink rim, and hint of orange tint. Redcurrant, dark cherry, raspberry, stewed strawberry, blueberry, rhubarb, vanilla, pu-er tea, spices, tobacco, dried fig, dried herbs, honey, ice cream cone, and mild leather. Medium-full bodied, medium-high acidity, medium-high structure, medium alcohol and long finish with residual sugar. Wine was still in secondary fruity phase with mainly red berry fruits, and not much tertiary notes. Complex, layered, bold yet restrain. Velvet, creamy and youthful.
This bottle needed more years in cellar to show its true potential.

This bottle really did the trick. Served after an truly outstanding Rousseau Clos Chateau 16 this turned it up a notch but followed the same beautiful vein that Rousseau 16 seems to possess. Just a terrfici nose, dark cherries galore, hauntingly fresh, cool fruited packed and stacked with well measured oak and a very long gripping finish. Suprisingly open today already, but will of course last and should get even better, I was really blown away by how good this wine was vs level / my expectations. So based on this Rousseau nailed 16.

Winos' excellent adventure in France; 6/22/2017-6/27/2017 (All over France): Beautiful floral nose, pure black fruits and strong limestone mineral. Very good concentration, nicely layered pure black fruit, good acidity and mineral, and a long black fruit driven finish. Really nice and delicious already.

The nose is hard to place, but it's cherry and black fruits and licorice and minerality.
