Bordeaux 2000 Horizontal (KOGS): Dense and compact fruit. Extreme but not in a defective way. Crazy structure but also quite bitter in the aftertaste. Very intense but also off balance..

Exemplary mature juice. Drank with friends at our French restaurant after a splash decant. Deep plush Right-Bank decadence which defies both WA's 99 score and CT's broadly inconsistent range. Deep brooding black fruits & berries with a whiff of spice. Make no mistake, this is thrilling Bordeaux at its best: Not Petrus but aspiring.
If a date, this was a corporate blind date with a Harvard MBA part time model. Thrilling and very satisfying all evening until breakfast.

Violets, light perfume, rich fruits, sweet oak and a bouquet of purple flowers. This reminds us of walking into a winery barrel room with the damp, unctuous fruit aromas. Bright, sweet Cabernet franc - wouldn’t have guessed this to be a Bordeaux with 20 years of age. Great structure and time ahead of it. Crushed lead pencil with earthiness. Could really be a stunner.
p.s. beef tenderloin, farmers cheese pierogis and asparagus

A jammy, opulent wine, but completely one dimensional. Could be mistaken for California—shows no sense of place. If you like Bordeaux, you won’t be happy with this.

Wow, this has really stepped up its game. The wine is lush, plush rich and sexy. The fruit has gained in weight and intensity over the years, the oak has completely faded away. This is drinking in the sweet spot today.
