This is a beast of wine, and tips the scales at 15% alcohol. First sip was a little rough, so I decanted for 90 minutes and it did the trick. This wine is quite dark, and they have done a great job of creating layers of dark fruit that commingle with spices. I drank this wine with grilled pork tenderloin (charcoal grill - marinade - salt, pepper, oranges, olive oil, balsamic, soy, worcestershire and garlic), but it would do well with a number of other hearty meals - ribs, short ribs, barbecue chicken, steaks.

Really enjoyed this. Plum in color and full bodied at 15%. Spice on the finish, but the mid-palate is full of dark, ripe fruit. Oddly enough, it's silky in texture and not very tannic. Drink this tender beast now to get the most out of the fruit.

Drinking great with age. Dark, deep, full savory fruit with character and structure way beyond its price point.

Tasty and a great buy at $18. Decant for at least 30 mins.
