Surprisingly accessible on pnp. Nose has purple fruit and minerals. Palate has decent tension which is a product of a great vintage. Enjoyable but a bit simple on the palate.

Some More Wine with Meals in Burgundy; 5/11/2014-5/19/2014 (Burgundy): From magnum, popped and poured, consumed over ~1 hour. Cross-section of cherry aromas and flavors, no surprising a little firm today, but with lots of elegance and good mouth feel. Cellar at least a few more years.

La Paulée de New York Grand Tasting (Metropolitan Pavilion - New York NY): Tasting. Red and black cherry aromas and flavors with some licorice and a fair dollop of oak spice. More firmly tannic that i normally expect from young chambolle, but still showing elegant textural nuance and lacy charm, just more in background. Give to 2020.

Although some of the fruit had faded and the colour had become more brick than ruby, the flavor and character of this outstanding wine remained.
