  • Underbrush and light smoke aromas. Elegant, med/- tannin. Pleasantly pool-side aromas. Red cherry, leaf, silent black tea.
Day 2 and this really comes together nicely. (After remaining decanted into empty 375ml and to the fridge overnight.). Really harmonious on Day 2, this is what you wait for. Mineral, Stoney coming through on the palate. Damn. Sweet pollen aromas.
Day 5. Gets much more grassy vitamin in its expression today, but not falling apart. Still well balanced, but with a much more mature expression. Mature strawberry aromas.

  • Really Old Chianti (Sunfish Cellars): A small pour at a tasting served alongside a few others. About 1/4" of bricking. The nose on all these wines are spectacular. The palate lets you know it is definitely an OLD wine. Some (including me) would consider this over the hill, but there is something in it that causes you to keep sipping it. Burnt toffee, burnt orange peel, dried mushroom, herbs, light sour cherry. Nose is 94, palate is 88 at best.

  • 7 days in Italy.; 6/16/2012-6/22/2012 (Italy): Concrete tank, chestnut barrels and not temperature controlled fermentation. Those were the ways of winemaking technique that produced this vintage in 1981. "VIDE" on the neck. This is a trade organization of great producers. "Wine producers of Italy of Excellence" or a translation to that effect. Felluga and di Gresy part of it as well.
Aromas of bright (see poolside) tobacco leaf, no oxidation. M/- tannin remains. 12% ABV. very elegant on the palate. just a whisper of red fruit remains. the finish just keeps on...
