A really outstanding red. All the fundamentals of a pinot noir, but much warmer and full in the nose. Nose red fruit, vanilla herbs and blossoms. Nice and round taste, slight note of wood, generally a bit fuller than a pinot noir at this price range. Very, very good value for money.

Colour is light brick read and give the impression of an aged wine. High opacity, the rim nearly transparent. Nose berries, definitively vanilla and herbs. Taste is similar to a Pinot Noir but seems to have a bit more of fat and the herbal aspects are more dominant than initially in the nose. Still a nice acidity, leaving the wine very well balanced. This is indeed a very interesting (and good) wine. Think I will have to look into Frühburgunder a bit more.

Dinner at 28-50 (28-50): I had never heard of fruhburgunder before until the bartender poured me a glass of this. Apparently this is pretty rare stuff as the wine didn't exist in CT and I had to create it. Very nice nose of ripe straberries and raspberry jam, with a piney note. Palate is full and smooth but not dense or concentrated, with noticeable vanilla. The texture is creamy and there's not much in the way of acid or tannin. Smells much nicer than it tastes; it's a little green/hollow. The finish is short and slightly bitter. Certainly interesting though.
