  • Coravin’d a couple of times and really disliked the very overt oak influence, which threw the wine into imbalance and completely overshadowed everything else. Popped the cork on the rest of the bottle a few months later and found it much improved - still not great, but not repugnant. Also, my expectations were very low by then. The oak was somewhat more integrated, the fruit was able to show through, and even some secondary notes saw the light of day. Threw the last couple of glasses in a jam jar in the fridge and had them a couple days later. The last glass was the most harmonious. By then the wine had some verve, but it made up for it with balance.

All in all, I can’t recommend this wine, but I’ve stopped disliking it. If you have it, I suggest holding a few more years unless you’re fond of oak juice, which many people are of course. It may turn into a decent little wine yet, but definitely not one to pop and pour at the moment.

  • Much better than previous two bottles. Thank goodness for that! Saturated tart fruit with that wonderful Burgundy walnut thing going on on the nose.

  • Rather mediocre. Preferred Morot’s 2009 from this vineyard.

  • medium red - restrained red cherry nose - tight mouth with acid predominating over the fruit - light fine tannins - relatively short finish - this wine is very drinkable now and will last for several more years, but not clear how much further it will develop

  • Autumnal nose of decaying leaves , bright cherries and vanilla and minerality on the palate. Not complex but enjoyable.
