bright ruby and light body. a whiff of barnyard leads to red and black currant nose with hints of blooming violets. more reticent in mouth than the nose would indicate, it opens up mid palate with cherry and cranberry flavours gliding over a mineral clay base. subtle but present structure and spice notes into the moderate finish.
13% AbV; from 55-y.o. vines; aged for fourteen months in French oak (30% new).

Tasting of 2021 Albert Morot Reds (Beaune, France): Barrel sample. Ruby. Much more wintergreen and less upfront fruit than the Cent Vignes. Elegant and fairly supple with strong clay notes. Again framed by very good acidity more so than tannins. Probably best for early consumption.

Spicy, kinda earthy, leaner then the Nudant Ladoix notes Brian. A bit pinched in the back. Just opened. Brian notes that its just tremendous.

Smells like popcorn, so the wood is standing a bit proud right now. Tight on the palate as well. Linear and direct right now.
