Wine gathering at RJ's; 4/4/2023-4/7/2023 (South Carolina): Expressive nose displaying “cultish” ripe black fruit with a hint of red, crème de cassis, blueberry jam, blackberry concentrate, cherry pie, strong vanilla/oak and caramel, mocha, espresso bean, dark spices and earth. Exceptional concentration, layers upon layers of concentrated black fruit, rich and intense, medium acidity, earthy mineral, and a long concentrated black fruit driven finish with mocha and oak at the end. This is a big scale wine showing luxurious oak.

Disappointing. Suppressed on the nose and palate. Saved some to try the next day. Will update.
Day 2: Improved, but still could have the tannins mellow and fruit emerge. Maybe another day would have helped but I don’t want to wait 3 days for a wine to be drinkable. Going to shift the drinking window +2 or 3 years and sit on the remaining bottles.

Deep Dark and Delicious, a well rounded succulent wine. From the appearance of darkness a well rounded nose with dark fruit, vanilla a gently loamy notes. The wine dank superb supple soft and smooth, dark cassis and hints of cocoa, dark leather and good balance.

Classic notes of dark fruit and cassis on the nose and palette, with a bit of vanilla and a welcome streak of minerality. A beautiful wine that's just now hitting its stride.
