Just a really solid, enjoyable wine. Beautiful nose upon opening. Needs about 45 minutes to open up and shake off the slightly vegetal and astringent element on the palate. After that the palate profile more closely resembles the nose. Dark fruit, bits of dark chocolate and coffee. Very enjoyable and a great value.

Very good. First notes include a briney, green olive character which gives way to more traditional espresso, pencil lead, charcoal, and caramel. Very well made, fine tannins and luscious mouthfeel. Otis Kenyon wines are generally great values, but their Merlot is consistently stellar in our experience. This one will easily develop further over 2-3 more years, happy we have a few more.

After 10-20 minutes the alcohol blew off and there was a beautiful jammy cherry juice quality. Very Nice!
